Any response will be appreciated, even if it's just stuff you've read or heard and not due to first-hand experience. Thanks.
here in NY its called psychiatric rehabilitation, and WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) the main basics of it here is the client has a treatment team not just a therapist and not just a psychiatrist. A whole team of treatment providers based on what the clients needs are and the goals are to get the client up to where they can participate out in the community, and there are also goals that will improve their quality of life..

example I have a treatment team made up of my psychiatrist, therapist, medical doctor, neurologist, cardiologist, physical therapist...plus I attend classes/groups that educate and help me learn about my mental and physical health issues, i also participate in support groups that have to do with my health issues, The MS group I am in has been amazing through this transition of my being diagnosed, learning about it and we sometimes get together for social activities. Over all this team of treatment providers, classes /groups and social outlets have helped me to not fall into more problems and my quality of life has not changed for the worst because of having mental and physical health issues, it has in fact improved you would be amazed at all the amazing tips I have received that have improved my quality of life, mentally, physically and socially over the past few years.
Thanks for this!
