It's a great description of the illness. It's not the DSM IV list but a description of what it's like to have BPD. You do push people away when you have BPD out of a fear of being abandoned. "I hate you; don't leave me" is a great description. You fear being left, you don't want to be left, yet you assume the person you care about will leave you for whatever reason, so you leave them first to spare yourself the pain. At least that's how I do it.
Reading about BPD is very helpful. I've learned more about reading descriptions of it online than from my therapists and doctors. They have very clinical terms. I like the down to earth descriptions.
