To poke the bear a bit, I wonder if remembering random things falls on the side of relationship building. To me it does. It's spontaneous by definition. In this book I'm reading, they bring up this very point! Either the r/s with T matters, or T's technique matters, in which case the client is reduced to a kind of case and Ts are interchangeable. Any T can give the correct interventions and interpretations - but I don't think that's true. The law might be like that, but psychology is a different field, as is philosophy. They might be related, but they have different views or goals. Oh, the book is the psychotherapy of the quiet borderline patient.
