I think it depends on how far and heated it got.
I know for me the closer the people to me the nastier my mouth is.
How ever this applies to more family members.
My friends I just cut right off.
The next day I can never be more sorry. And it does take time. They do slowly forgive me. Soaking in my own guilt and shame.
