I have seen no stigma around depression and anxiety in the general population, where I live. Last example: before Christmas, I reconnected with the mom of one of my older daughter's former gfs. I had not seen her for years and even back then were not close.
What do you think? We were eating lunch and she was eating gluten-free. She could perfectly well have said that she was intolerant. Many people are. Nope, she volunteered that she had had symptoms of depression and anxiety and removing gluten had helped with them. Absolutely unprovoked disclosure. Out of the blue. She does not know I am mi.
And this is just one example - I know of more.
So depression and anxiety are completely politically correct, just do not you dare to get manic!
