I had a friend who's mother reacted the same way for a while in her mid 50's. The only solution we were able to find would be to call the non-emergency hotline for the police when in the same room as her while she is behaving that way. If they overhear her actions it may be enough to have an officer come to escort her to the emergency room. Especially if you stress that she is attacking you. Make sure to be clear you dont want to press charges but that you need help getting her help
