Kitty I have many different safety plans...
where I work there is a safety plan that all employees must follow:
knowing where all the exits are.
keep supervisor informed of our daily plans. this way if an emergency comes up the supervisor knows who and how many are in the "work zone" (the receptionist keeps track in the waiting room area)
remember to sign in and sign out
thats the basic safety plan there are others for dealing with violence situations at work.
the hotel I was staying in had their safety plan....
know the exits
keep rooms clean and sanitary, though there is room service no one likes roaches and other insects due to having food in the rooms, room service will be glad to frequent your room as often as you would like.
no fire arms or other weapons / drugs (at this hotel they have had quite a problem with this at one time and also due to new 9/11 laws/rules on zero tolerance so they have security teams that do go around with trained dogs, as a result this hotel is ranked number one in the city)
my wife and I also have our safety plans for our intimate times together. we have been together for years so there is only one hard fast safety rule we have now...
have a safe word where both can at any time call stop, say no to what ever is going on.
we used to have many others as I was processing through being a sexual abuse survivor person with DID like
always discuss before acting on anything
always ask permission first
never assume just because one is ready the other is too
take care to always be focused and aware during sex.
my wife has her own safety plans that revolve around her health issues
write things down
remember to check blood sugar (no shes not diabetic per se but she is on meds that can interfere with her blood sugar)
stay focused
and I have my own safety plan that revolves around my health issues...
remember to breath, ground, and stay focused
make time for myself
let my therapist know when I am feeling strong emotions during sessions
follow therapy safety plan ...let my therapist know when I have the urge to not eat (eating disorder) feelings of self harm /suicidal thoughts before acting upon them.
remember to take my meds every day as prescribed
contact my treatment providers with any changes, symptoms.
