Well, I've been put on Saphris for
Major Depression with Psychotic Features (as in hallucinations and some irritability/agitation)
.
I was told that it's in the class of
"atypical anti-psychotic" and was indeed used for
mood stabilization as well. I know that it
DID take a while for me to see some affect for the hallucinations
(actually, a few months) when I started Saphris. But eventually, the hallucinations really diminished (I'm still working on the mood stabilizing; my pdoc had me on wellbutrin for, like, two years and it was completely useless. I'm actually on my 2nd day of Lamictal today).
I don't really know your whole story; but I would check with your doctor and give it some time. I DO find it helpful (which is good for me.... but it kinda sucks cuz the Saphris sublingual tastes like chewing aspirin XP ).
I take mine at bedtime (10 mg) because it kind of makes me groggy (not
TIRED, per say; just fairly groggy and not feeling "sharp", you know?). If you take yours in the morning, I would ask to switch it to nighttime to see if that helps (who knows, it might make a world of difference). Other than that, I don't know what to tell ya. Hope this helped
