The researchers say this ability to learn exists in a baby even before birth. They say newborn babies can recognize and understand sounds they heard while they were still developing inside their mothers.
The reporters: "Today, we examine recent findings about how intelligence develops in babies. We look at when and how babies learn, and the importance of early contact with languages." http://learningenglish.voanews.com/c...n/1582366.html

Bilingualism, body position and iron deficiency play significant roles in intelligence development. Not surprisingly, high quality child care is critical.

Parenting well is very challenging. The report for many may simply be a reminder. Even so, a baby only has one childhood. What he/she learns during that period will be influential throughout the child's life.
