The ringing sensation is called tinnitus. Since this is a diagnostic label and nothing more, treating it requires figuring out the cause in your case. Normally, it's from your inner hairs cells being damaged from loud noises but they also are destroyed from age. In humans, they cannot regrow. The task is figuring out how they were damaged, whether the cause can damage other parts of your ear structure, etc... . Additionally, it can be neurological and not tinnitus, although generally it is tinnitus.

If it is bothering you quite a lot, then you should visit an ENT who will likely have you see an audiologist or an otologist.
