I can understand how you feel about them learning everything about you. There are some things that I am so ashamed of, I have not told anyone.
Even so, I do see a therapist (T) and, after years of searching, I finally have a good one. I hope you go to your appointment and you have a fabulous therapist.

I like going to my therapist. I want someone to know who I am and what matters to me. I have spent my life largely unheard and invalidated, so having a T listen feels good, even if she is paid to listen. She has not been shocked by anything I have told her so far and I have told this T more than I told any of the others. She also has been very accepting of me and my concerns and very gentle when she sometimes needs to tell me she thinks I am making a mountain out of a mole hill.
