Assuming you live in the U.S., you could try and get some ephedrine.
It's a behind-the-counter controlled substance that some pharmacies carry.
Short and Sweet: It's an amphetamine, it's legal, it's cheap, it works.
Provigil will work, that's what it's made for, but not nearly as well and you need to actually get an RX for it.
