When I first was put on an antipsychotic med, they used Zyprexa. I think I gained 50 lb in a few months. So they changed it to Seroquel about a year later, and it wasn't any better for me. Finally now I'm on Abilify for my schizoaffective.

Because of the weight gain I got diabetes. I am just now getting it under control. I believe Zyprexa especially can cause a person to get diabetes because what I've heard is that it closes the cells and makes you insulin resistant. Abilify is the same, except it doesn't affect me as bad as the other two did.
