I'm new here and have just skimmed through your story in these posts. I'm also overweight and for a week now have been trying to eat less. I know that you're having trouble getting to the gym and I can so relate. Personally the thought of exercising around others (or even being in the same changing room) scare the wibblies out of me.
I'm no expert, but can I make a suggestion? Have you tried walking more?
You mentioned earlier in the thread that you were tired after a trip to the store. Maybe you could make that trip (or something similar) a daily event? It needn't take long, and probably isn't as good as the gym, but it may get the heart beating and burn a few more calories off. I'm going to try to walk the long way home from now on, doubling the length of my walk home.
Just a suggestion that may help you get into exercise without the stresses of the gym. Maybe you could get your husband to join you for a bit of moral support? It may stop the comments.
