I have lived on my own since 2009. I rented a house for a little bit. Get out there and look. I know in FL there are some nice apartments that are income based and rent is pretty cheap. I also know a few people that rented houses and the landlord worked well with them. I have found in the past that if a friend is a roommate that i can destroy a friendship.
