I like waffles IF they are not hard. The prefab frozen ones that you put in the toaster tend to be hard, in my experience. Like - they can scratch the roof of my mouth, which is not pleasant.

Incidentally, the superiority of real maple syrup over the fake syrups is totally worth the price, IMO. That is a reason why I can't say I've ever had really great waffles or pancakes at any chain pancake/waffle house.

I wonder if they serve the fake sweet syrup even in Vermont.
