There is legal help available for you. Check with NAMI for someone in your area. Many are free. In RI, SOAR is one place to go and it's free. I don't know about other areas.

With a doc's recommendation, it should seem as it would be a go. However, I know in RI, anyway, people are *always* denied once. It's a way to discourage.
