Last I heard, they're not getting rid of the sub-types of sz, they're making them into "dimensions" of sz and redefining them somewhat.
Eighteen moths ago, a pdoc told me that there isn't going to be a "catatonic" subtype anymore—which is the kind I was told I had to begin with. But knowing the political processes of DSM-writing, I wouldn't be surprised if their plans have changed eleventy times since then.
