... yeah, my immune system is INSANELY weak because of the Psoriatic Arthritis and the Enbrel shot I take for it. I get sick a lot because of it, which is partly why I'm so concerned
But anyway, I finally got my mom to take me into the doctor on Friday, and my doctor thought that it was just my Acid Reflux acting up from stress (not a TOTALLY ridiculous thought, considering all that's been going on lately ).
She just upped my dose of Omperazole to 40 mg, 2x Daily (which is actually a really high dosage). My last doctor had wanted to try and up my dose from 20 mg, 1x Daily , to 20 mg, 2x Daily.... but insurance was refusing to pay for the second dose. Finally, he gave up on that useless pursuit and just upped the dose 40 mg, 1x Daily (in the morning); so at that way, I was getting enough to at least decrease my symptoms- even if it wasn't spaced out the right way.
But anyways, I am still a little unsure; it doesn't FEEL like mere Acid Reflux. I have had it before where my esophagus/stomach was SO irritated- like, when I got nauseous and gagged, or puked- I would also hack up blood. So I'm just thinking to myself, "Yeah, doctor..... I wouldn't know what bad Acid Reflux feel like or anything ". So I guess I'm just kinda waiting to see if insurance will cover this dosage, and if the problem goes away (my doctor just instructed me to take another Omperazole from my current bottle in the afternoon; just until I can get the Rx filled). I have been this since Friday, and I'm not sure what to think; on the one hand, my I don't have the STABBING pains in my stomach. On the other hand, my back and sides still really hurt, and my stomach is more of a duller ache now. On top of that, now I have had a significant decrease in BM's and also have to strain to...... erm...... pass gas
So I don't know; I'll have to see if those go away. She said to give it until this Friday, and if it didn't go away, I should call her and she would refer me to a gastroenterologist, who would probably d a scope.
Thanks for the advice though, you guys! I'll let you know how it goes!
