It was very structured. You had no choice but to participate. But the skills group was just about learning the skills. There was not actually any "therapy" going on. You were not talking about yourself and your problems. You were just learning the skills. The leaders gave everyone a binder, we learned a new skill every week then there was homework on it. Seriously was like sitting in a small group class more than anything else. It helped me. I learned a lot about myself thru those homework assignment and learned not to turn to a bottle and pills to cope, but more healthy ways.
