I go through those periods too . During the last one, I realized that I am angry when I overeat. Do you know what triggers you or what emotion you are trying to cover up?

Exercise works for me. Instead of eating, I walk to the corner or stretch or actually work out. It distracts me and reminds me to not to overeat.

Remind yourself that food is for nutrition and not nurturance.

It sounds like you are ready to stop overeating because you are reaching out. Good luck.
