Likewise, but I don't think it's particularly black and white (though I don't know a lot about it). Apparently the law states that you can't leave them "without making reasonable provision for their care and supervision".

I was left before 14 and I enjoyed my time on my own. I don't think I was very confident about it before 12, and by 13 being on my own was preferable.
