Crew, the issues you're experiencing are not anything we can help you with any further, because you've tried everything to fix the problem already.

If you are using updated versions of web browsers (like the newest ones) and have everything properly installed -- as it sounds like you do, especially since you can enter chat without a problem -- it's likely a connectivity issue between your Internet service provider and our servers.

Sadly, there's not a lot that can be done about it. While the chat is written to take connectivity issues into account, it's not perfect.

What you can do is to contact your Internet service provider, and explain the issue to them to see if there's anything they can do on their end. The server you're trying to connect to is:

chat.psychcentral.com (209.236.120.128)

which they may ask for. Good luck and I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing issues.
