I had 5 older siblings (oldest 13 years older) ...so I had the opposite problem... I was never alone... I was 12 (in 6th grade) when I had to be home one hour alone between when my sisters bus took them to high school and when my bus came for elementary school and I danced around the house... loved the freedom...

My mom would call every morning from her secretary job at another school right before the bus came and would ask the same questions every morning... Is the iron unplugged? Is the curling irons and hair dryers unplugged? Is the toaster unplugged? Did you put the milk back in the refrigerator? and it was always in the same order... i think this was what ingrained the whole eye roll issue that I have.
