Wow. I never knew that OCD could have an onset later in life. I always thought that anyone with OCD was probably like that as a child.

I guess I'm going by my own experience. I've not been diagnosed with OCD. I just have a trait in that direction that is a bit beyond what most consider normal. My parents told me I had that tendency from the time I was a toddler. But it has gotten worse over time. I've gotten much more worried about removing dust from everything. Of course, that started after I moved to a very dusty region of the world.

In other ways though, I seem to be getting "stuck" more. So maybe your story is illuminating for me. It shows me that some serious problems can start later in life. Things are getting a lot tougher for me. They do involve issues of grooming and housekeeping.

That's good to hear that you have been able to improve so much. I'm glad you were able to find helpful treatment.

A tough problem for me has been accumulating piles of paperwork and then unable to get it sorted out. This started when I was a kid. It got much worse over the past 12 years. At times, I feel in despair of ever getting myself organized.
