Never been on disability but have had extended periods of not working or going to school and basically bumming off my parents.
Anyway, I always kept a really tight schedule as best I could. I'd try to spend at least an hour studying a certain subject I was interested in--a language, for example. I do 60-90 minutes of exercise every day (that includes warmup and cool down). An hour of leisurely reading. 20-30 minutes of cleaning (in addition to the things that need to be done every day). I did a lot of crafting hobbies and spent more time cooking home-made meals. I went out with friends as often as I could (not that often though). I attempted to volunteer... it's a great thing to do but my social anxiety was too severe at the time... I really tried to limit my internet/TV to something reasonable, and that's much easier to do when you are busy!
Of course, all of this was worked around my many, many, many visits with my therapist or pdoc or whatever.
