1. We're all more alike than we are different.

2. We're all created equal, but we're not all born equal.

3. We should never judge ourselves based on who somebody else says or thinks we are. People reveal more of themselves when they speak than they do about anyone else.

In fact, we should not judge ourselves at all. We should just evaluate who we are and live by our deepest principles. We will be fine with that.

4. Everyone has a soul (except the psychopath); one way to take care of that is to study seriously spiritual exercises if we need to heal.
(See http://www.Ignatiousloyolaspiritualexercises.com )

5. Behavior is the truth of who we are. What we say is not.

6. Someone I know said, "if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all".

7. The world is filled with violence and pain. We carve our own lives by the way we overcome the things in the world. We should not forget that 90% of the people of the world mean well and try to live decent, helpful lives.

8. The first drive of worldly life is the effort to obtain money. Money itself is not a crime--it is the love of money that is so destructive.

9. Doing the same thing over, over, and over again and expecting a different result is insanity.

10. Integrity is the essence of intellectual life.
