I can sit, reflecting and making plans to change everyday. Having ADD I need tangibles. At work we have goals, our goals need to be specific, measurable and a timeline for accomplishing.
Wash dishes on counter by sink (filled sink, surfed internet, washed 10 dishes, got a drink, washed 5 more, picked up tools and put away, surfed internet, finished dishes in sink and filled again, check my email etc all evening long until all the dishes were washed on that counter) There were still piles of dishes on the rest of the counters, but I couldn't think about that.
Next night clean another counter, wash all the dishes, pick up the trash and put things away. (again chipping away, bit by bit)
It took a week, to make it look ok, still kind of grungy, but clean.
Now I am cleaning the frig, that will take several days, but breaking it up into pieces really helps.
It is easier to wash small piles of dishes everyday then to go at it all it once.
I have done this with the laundry, living room sofa and floor.
Slow? yes very slow, but I have a plan and achieving goals every day
