Perhaps they simply didn't share your diagnosis with you at that time? I know that my pDoc isn't real keen on sharing diagnoses with his clients either, as he feels as though people become overwhelmed or too focused on the illness, rather than simply focusing on what helps them feel better. I did come straight out and ask what my diagnoses were so I could have some sense of relief, rather than wonder.

He then shared them with me, but also threw in NOS to most of my diagnoses. It still leaves some things to the imagination, as I'd rather have it black and white - nice and simple. But, I guess that it isn't real simple very often in the real world.

If it's really bothering you, you can always ask your doc for the diagnosis and prognosis.
