Funny you should ask. I was just thinking about that when I got on here. Originally, I only posted on the forums, really. Once in a while, I'd go to chat. Then I went away for a while, trying to do things with my life, but I miss my friends here, especially when I wanted to talk. I came back, but eventually, I stopped posting on the boards because it took up so much of my time. So, I hung out in the chat room every time I got on PC. Now I'm back to the boards, and haven't been in the chat room for a long time. There are advantages to both, and both can take up time, especially when you're also checking Facebook (and Twitter and Instagram, for those who do that--I'm on Twitter, but I never check it, yet I constantly "Follow" people, go figure! I'm not on Instagram). Plus other things I do online. So much I want to do, not enough time!
My problem with the chat room is that sometimes people are there, but nobody's chatting. What's the point? I know this will sound awful, but also, sometimes I don't want to get into chatting about depressing things, because then I get depressed, if I wasn't already. Still, I have taken the time to listen to people, sometimes in private rooms, because people have done that for me. I am grateful to have PC. In the forums, I get a mix of happy and sad posts, so I seem to feel more balanced. I usually don't get all unhappy because I read a sad post; I offer support when I can, but I also go enjoy the fun, funny and upbeat posts.
