How old are you, Jasper? My understanding is if you are 18 or over, privacy laws kick in. This info will appear on the insurance report, though. I can't imagine that if would increase the insurance cost just because it has to do with what treatment you sought. Of course, the insurance would pay just for whatever amount they cover and the rest would be billed on your parent's account, if it's not totally covered.

Are your parents folks who don't believe in treatment? I'm just wondering why you are concerned about their response.

I don't know about paying out of pocket if you do have insurance coverage. Anybody else know if it's allowed?
