going to the city alone sounds great, other people do not always wish to spend the same amount of time as ones self on looking at/exploring the same articles, so you would end up not being satisfied, missing bits you really want to see and being bored waiting whilst the other is exploring what they want to see.
going places like a walk through the park or trip to the coast are ok with others but not for places where you have plans to do/see specific things.
any how going it alone gives you something to talk about with others as only you experienced it so it will be interesting for everyone you tell.
