A while back I posted here saying I wished I could develop a "Napoleon Complex" to offset the insecurities I see holding me back in life. Now I realize what a totally stupid thing that was to ever wish for.

I went to another site like PC. I browsed some posts by people with similar issues. I realized I was reading about times that others had apparently developed a bit of a Napoleon Complex ... and let me tell you, I feel like taking a shower now ... because what I realized is it apparently turns you into a judgmental, arrogant, overbearing, self-absorbed, vindictive *******. (Sorry for the vitriol; some of the specifics I found personally offensive and very triggering). As a coping mechanism, it is a bad joke at best, and just turns people into the very kind of personality they were likely tormented by in the first place.

So ... I am deeply sorry for spouting off about things I am clearly ignorant of. (Note: the Napoleon Complex is a popular term for compensating for perceived inadequacies, and is not a recognized disorder in the DSM).

Thanks for this!
