My husband slurred his words when he was going toxic on his lithium. He was taking the right amount of lithium, but then he started taking certain allergy medications that caused his lithium concentration to increase. We didn't realize this was going on until it had damaged his kidneys. So if you are taking lithium, go get a blood test and check your lithium level. Maybe something could be making it increase too high.
