Wow...I must say that you really do have a tremendous amount to deal with...I'm sorry.

Your stress level alone is plenty to keep you depressed...some sort of stress management, exercise, deep relaxation are in order...

You're right about the Depakote...that will do nothing for bipoar depression. Lithium may or may not help, there's research both ways. Lamotrigine (Lamictal in the US) is very helpful in bipolar, both for mood stabilization and help with depression.

My personal bias is that the newer antidepressants should be avoided if at all possible, the potential for mood instability is significant...but I'm an unemployed crazy person , so take it for what it's worth!

I hope things get better for you soon...I know how miserable things can be.
