You sound like a wonderful person. I know from experience that somethimes reaching out to people of the past can be a beautiful thing and than other times they don't remember me and all I get is embarrassed and yes that feeling goes away. It sounds like you'd be successful in contacting them and it being a great experience. I say take a chance. Remember it's just my opinion though.
