I guess that would be a shock. It's hard to find a lot of information on schizoaffective disorder, but I can tell you in my assessment class one of the things we learned was hardest to differentiate was between bipolar and schizoaffective. It's tricky. I just searched for it on
http://www.behavenet.com/capsules/ because they often have book recommendations along with the diagnostic information (they didn't have any for schizoaffective disorder), and half of the references that came up had something to do with bipolar.
It all comes down to that you are who you are, anyway, and what label someone assigns to your symptoms doesn't actually change your symptoms or who you are. It might just help professionals to know what to keep in mind in treating you, but that's all a diagnosis really is.
