I find this happens all the time (at least to me). Someone gets offended if I tell them I have a crush on them/have feelings for them. Telling him is all you can do.

I'm probably going to get ripped a new one for this, but I don't care...
The best strategy to tell someone you have a crush on them is don't. They always get pissed/offended. Maybe they should make the first move for once, you know?

In a perfect world I would have also suggested to avoid having crushes on people, but unfortunately we don't have complete control over that.

But anyway, just leave the guy alone for awhile and if he as any ****, he'll eventually come talk to you. And if not, screw him—don't waste another second on him.
