Okay, I have an appointment with my NEW Pdoc in 2 weeks. I can't wait.

When I called the old doc yesterday about my meds, I didn't use any ugly words or raise my voice but you could tell from my tone of voice that I was Pi$$ed.

So this morning the staff calls me back. They are mad because I left an UGLY message. Then the girl told me that they never denied my medicine. They claim my pharmacy is at fault here. She said my pharmacy never called and asked for a refill. I told her that I was inclined to believe my pharmacy over her because the office never returns my phone calls. I told her that the office had lost all credibility with me since they never return phone calls. She then told me that it is NOT her fault. She said the last message I left for the doctor about the new medication he prescribed is still on his desk, and he still HAS NOT answered it. That message was left 2-3 weeks ago. I told her that is not acceptable to me and that I felt it was highly unprofessional. I told her that even my family doctor agreed that it is unprofessional. She then told me that I needed to stop complaining to her because it's not her fault. I told her that I had to call my family doctor today to get a refill on my Lexapro. She then said that the doctor would discontinue care if I started getting meds elsewhere. I told her that was fine with me because my family doctor referred me to a new psychiatrist and that I had already set up the appointment. She asked me if I wanted to discontinue care and I told her DEFINITELY YES!

She then said that she didn't want to talk to me anymore. She said she should not have to listen to me complain about her employer when it isn't her fault.

I told her I can't be the only one complaining and if she doesn't want to listen to complaints then maybe she would work for a more professional doctor. I also let her know that I would be sending a records request and that I hoped they would be able to get my records to my new doctor in a timely manner.

I'm still pi$$ed. How can a doctor be so unprofessional? Why would a doctor who deals with people's mental health on a daily basis just leave them hanging like that?
