I also struggle with the prospect that a psych ward stay actually might be worse for me in the long run than toughing it out at home. My own long-term psychiatrist has told me he feels I personally would
not benefit from a psych ward stay.
This is no easy decision. The psych ward can keep you safe for a time. For some (many?) it can be a positive experience. For others...?
