Hi, glad you found us.

Although the causes of depression are varied, the feeling of dreading the morning light seems to be a common feeling. Maybe its because the oncoming of dark means that you can retreat without being poked at or having to try and get through daily dealings.

I agree with adam that seeking help is the first line of defense when it comes to depression. There are other conditions that can mimic depression, and the last thing you need is to be treated for the wrong thing. See a qualified psychiatrist that can both diagnose depression as well as perscribe medications. Nothing wrong with psychologists and they may be great for non-drug therapy, but you need a Dr. to perscribe.

If you aren't yet sure if you want to see someone, try keeping a detailed journal about how you feel, when, and what seems to make it worse or better. Often times you have at least part of the answer inside yourself. Even if you don't see a pattern, it will give a doctor something to go by when you are seen. Trying to look back and remember specific details is hard for anyone, but depression tends to slow the thinking process. Having a written journal will save you from having to second guess yourself.
