To be honest, whenever I'm craving sweets and think I need a lot to eat, my favourite option is fruit. An apple, some grapes or even draining a tin of mandarin oranges satisfies my craving in a healthier way. If you feel like that's still not helping with the hunger, try adding some protein to the snack like peanut butter or some chick peas. The protein helps to stretch out the length of time it takes for the sugars to be absorbed into your body and regulates your blood sugar - wacky out of control blood sugars really mess with your desire to eat more. Take it from this diabetic!
