I've been on propranolol for awhile and it is great for PTSD & anxiety. I'm so much calmer than I used to be, it is easer to make decisions. I could not take it while I was in the hospital or rehab hospital after spine surgery and there was a definitive difference in my ability to deal with the anxiety. Perhaps in part because I don't like being vulnerable or in hospitals so it was a high stress place for me but the other meds lowered my blood pressure too much. It took some time for me to get up to a working dose but my body adapted and my blood pressure remains normal.
Using propranolol is great there have not been any side effects and I don't need to worry about tolerance or addiction. I haven't heard anything about the brain trauma or rage issues. The only thing I'm aware of is that I'm not suposed to stop taking the meds abruptly, not something I want to do. Hope it all goes well for you.
