The most effective method to help yourself remember your dreams is to make proper use of your mind. Just telling yourself that you want to remember your dreams is not sufficient because this is nothing but an emotional expression of a desire. What the mind requires is “good reason”. If you provide yourself with good reasons as to why you wish to remember the dreams, you will have more success. You need to impress the reasons upon the mind somewhat like hammering in a nail. Try thinking along the following lines and repeat the whatever good reasons you have a few times during the day.
“I really want to remember my dreams – because I have become aware that they contain messages and information that can be very useful and beneficial to me.”
“I really want to remember my dreams - because they provide me with a view into the contents of my own mind and can help me get to know myself.”
“I really want to remember my dreams - because they can show me the errors in my thinking and better connect me with the Lord.”
Thinking in this manner can also be used to help break bad habits {smoking, over eating, swearing etc…}. The mind will help you accomplish your goal if you provide it with good reasons for doing so. The mind is there to work for you. Always emphasize your REASONS.
