My brother was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and he was being given Lithium and oleanz plus for for than 10 months. During the treatment when the oleanz plus(olanzapine fluxetine) would have been removed so as his sleep would start to disturb and slowly slowly he began to stare at one place, sometimes would laugh without reason, he missed daily chores, react very slowly, talked less and when the oleanz plus would have been started he would slowly slowly come to the normal. After getting an opportunity to go to a famous mental hospital in city he was made to vist a psychiatrist there. After telling the history of his illness his med oleanz plus was replaced by Divalporex . Henceforth, he had lithium and divalproex but as soon as he started divalproex in place of oleanz plus his condition began to deteriot. He could not sleep, less active, sometimes would stare at one place, if someone would call him he would response slowly. Sometimes would smile, some times woukd seem little angry, sometimes with little tear in his eyes. These three things , Happiness, anger,cry began to increase. Slowly slowly he started crying loudlt, laugh laudly and show great anger. Then again condition deteriorated and started becoming agrresive. He would seem to be in great anger , started beating, punching family member. Then he was consulted to the psychiatrist and he was told that divalproex is not suitable for him. He was told not to take divalproex during any stage of his life. Now he is being given Lithium and Olanzapine as well as divalproex to reduce the dosage to stop. But no he is reduced to divalproex500 mg from 100mg. His agressive beheviour has been quite reduced but yet he sometimes do work with exitement, sometimes cry without reason, sometimes laugh, sometimes show anger. I want to know whether his diagnose is correct or what is going on with his med. He is under medication still sometimes agressive and sometime even difficult to control his anger. What might be the reason. Very difficult sitiuation to face.....help
