(((PP))) I try to stay away from the news for that very reason. Sometimes I swear that this is not reality, but some ridiculous flash from some futuristic syfi movie where this could not possibly happened because we as a species have more common sense than that. I'm not trying to bury my head in the sand, but I learned during the aftermath of 911 that what is being reported isn't necessarily accurate. Remember when the news was a report of what is going on and that an anchorman made sure his sources were accurate, because his reputation meant something?
I do know that part of the... problem...issue is me. My views have changed as I've gotten older. My husband was telling me last night that they're doing spot checks for drugs. He said he was sure his car was safe as he works in a neighboring community and had already been searched. He warned that I may need to leave a few minutes early for work Saturday as rumour is that they'll be here this weekend. This is illegal in this state. You need something called probable cause to search my vehicle. My father was a police officer. In my 20s my attitude was "I don't have anything to hide, search away."
Now that I'm older, I flat out state, you had better have probable cause before ripping my vehicle apart. My son is the sixth or seventh generation to serve in the military on my side and fifth on his fathers. I take my fourth ammendment rights seriously. People I know and loved have sacrificed to protect the Constitution. Who do you think you are to spit on it?
