I am not sure if this is just an obsession, ocd, or some thing else.

To me, it seems a bit serious of an obsession that perhaps you should go talk to a therapist or someone about to get a little control over the problem. Mainly due to you mention anxiety with this issue as well as it seems to be a "must have need" for you.

I am sure you have spent loads of money on clothes and material things by now from what I am reading from your post.

I am not a doc or anything just an observer and a person with my own struggles, but is it possible that you are projecting the outer appearance of things to be perfect, of some thing lacking with in or perhaps has such a great meaning to you?

Does having perfect clothes, make you perfect or more perfect than others? Or is there some thing else with the clothes and their imperfections?

Now I could be totally wrong but Seemingly it sounds like You believe that you can some what "control" the perfection of the clothes by buying more of the same type when some thing is "wrong" with it;..... "control" i say due to if so, it is an illusion of control, due to you don't make the cloths

Has the thought ever came to mind, that when you point out and pick apart others' clothing, that they too are not perfect? and are ok with it, and no one else is seemingly picking out that others' clothes are not prefect?
What I am getting at there is that- Nothing is perfect, and yes some thing can be great but if you pick it apart, you will always find "some thing wrong with it".

I think you should be kind to yourself take a deep breath.

Personally, since you realize you are having this issue-
I think you should try not to buy another shirt and see if with being able to do that, and remind yourself that little flaws are some times what make great things unique!
As far as anxiety, do you have some thing that could occupy your mind? Like a hobby or some thing you like to do?

If trying to occupy your mind does not work and you are still obsessing over the flawed clothing, i think you should get some advice from someone....There is nothing wrong with dressing nice, and liking to have nice clothes, but you should not have to live in hell due to your clothes are not perfect

I wish you well and hope you well and many good thoughts your way
