Hate to say it, but America and the United Kingdom does have a problem with obesity and weight, and the people who are overweight because of medications are the minority. I highly doubt anyone is thinking, "Hehe those fat Yanks/Brits with all those medications they take making them so fat" when people say those things.

I'm not saying it's right, but that is the current perception of the world at the moment. Perhaps you shouldn't take it to heart.
