True, Lola, but it ends up being devastating and frustrating for the people they leave behind who begged them to get help and do something differently after the first few attempts. She was only 21. She is the same girlfriend of his who hit a 5 year old kid in the face right after my dad's funeral. AND THEN she and my nephew tried to say she had a RIGHT to do so. People are posting stuff on her facebook page, like an ex-boyfriend was sharing a story about dating her in high school, and his parents having to force her to leave. She had a meltdown about it and sat in the middle of road and wouldn't move even when traffic went by, until the kid's dad gave up and let her come back in.

My point there was that she clearly had issues for a very long time. Her mom had told me last year that she was afraid the girl would kill herself. She checked the girl into a hospital, but since she was over 18, they had to let her leave after the hold because she was not "flagrantly" suicidal.
