leeross, you are not alone. We are here to listen. In fact, many people here have been abused in some form or fashion. Of course, we have this forum on "survivors of abuse." And we also have a social group, if my memory serves me right.

It's particularly difficult when nobody wants to believe us. They are burying their heads in the sand--in denial. That makes it even harder for the person to feel safe and valued. But, alas, I'm afraid it's fairly common. It rocks the boat for the family and sometimes they just can't deal with it.
